When I moved to Little Rock, someone, who shall remain nameless, introduced me to white wine, she said it was the mature thing to do; and at 22 I felt so grown up!
Nowadays, wine is all I drink at home, because lets face it, making cocktails requires a lot of effort, and I just don’t have time for that … So, when I’m at one of my favorite restaurants, you can guarantee I’m giving a signature cocktail a go!
A few of my favorites I’m sharing on the store Instagram this week include cocktails from South on Main, Heights Taco, SO, and The Capital Hotel just to name a few.
For the record, as not to sound like a crazy, who drinks all the time… I don’t drink [during the week days] unless it’s a Super Special night out.
That’s right, since January we had a major Health Overhaul at our house more on that later… I decided no cocktails (or my precious wine) unless it was absolutely necessary! Even if we have an event to attend during the week, limit to 1 or none … Moderation folks…
Here’s the recipe for the Capital Hotel, Debutante:
The Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 oz. Kai Lychee Vodka
- 3/4 oz. St. Germaine Elderflower
- 1/2 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
- 1 1/4 oz. grapefruit juice
- Dash of grapefruit bitters
- Garnish with basil leaf and flower corsage
PS: I sell a candle at the store named for this cocktail; worked for months before we opened in 2017 to get that grapefruit/basil scent nailed down.
